Hot Spot Coffee Shops
Okay, by now if you're not from Youngstown you're probably feeling a little jealous. I don't blame you but unfortunately, we're even more privileged than you thought. Not only can Youngstown satisfy your hunger, but we also cure intense caffeine cravings.
First on our list of morning grabs lies in the heart of downtown Youngstown. Located on Youngstown State University's campus, Pressed as we call it has been the local hot spot for breaks and lunch dates. This two-story coffee shop was once a home transformed into a private but modern cafe. Pressed prioritizes serving coffee from around the world with individual twists inspired by campus life like the Penguin Mocha. Pressed is known for their homemade waffles and salads if you're not here for a quick fix of caffeine. If you're into creative drinks with bold flavors, Pressed is the place for you. Check them out at 215 Lincoln Avenue.
Last on our list is Branch Street Coffee. Located at 1393 Boardman-Canfield Road, Branch Street is for coffee lovers that enjoy their coffee with a kick- by kick I mean strong. Branch Street is unique to the average coffee shop because they focus on building strong community relationships within Youngstown by partnering with local food organizations. To name a few, Nova Coffee Company, The Kitchen Post (YUM) and Bake Me Treats. You can find delicious macaroons supplied by Bake Me Treats right in their dessert case. I suggest you try a few or 6 because they make an excellent addition to your morning cup of Joe. Branch Street also likes to educate their customers with coffee education, from the beans to the water, to the pour. Branch Street provides an interactive coffee concept to everyone who stops in!
Also located on YSU's campus among several other locations, Stone Fruit is known for their vibes, if you will. Each location is complete with chalk-drawn murals that incorporate their menu! Stone Fruit releases seasonal coffees and has a variety of coffee beans sold by the pound to have the taste of their coffee brewed in your own home. Stone Fruit also tries to cater to the casual coffee drinker by creating drinks like the coffee float, yes you heard me right. An iced coffee with the flavor of your choice and a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. The best part about Stone Fruit is their philanthropy initiative through The Mission of Love organization which is a local foundation that gives back to the places Stone Fruit gets their organic coffee beans from to fight hunger and poverty. Not to mention, they sell some really cute merch for the die-hard coffee lovers.
