There are plenty of cities widely known for their pizza success so why a small town in Northeast, Ohio? The truth is you have to taste it to believe it. The top two best pizza's in Youngstown greatly from each other. That's the beauty in it all, options! Something for everyone! And if you never find your way to Youngstown, that's alright you can just imagine..

1. The Elmton

Pizza, chicken wings, and fried things. The Elmton is located in the heart of Struthers, Ohio. Here in this small town, you'll find locals and Wild Cat pride. As a popular place after a Friday night win, The Elmton puts a not-so-popular twist on pizza. It starts with a circular pie, cooked crisp on the bottom and doughy on the top. Here is where it gets wild. The sauce comes next, then green peppers and lastly the cheese. A mix of parmesan, mozzarella and swiss. You read that right, I said Swiss. It took my enter childhood to confirm that's what I was tasting but has long since been a crowd favorite everywhere in the 330. Do not fear the pie, expand your horizons and grab a slice at 584 5th Street, Struthers, Ohio 44471.

2. Avalon Downtown

Stay with me now, remember when I said there's something for everybody? Depending on what part of Italy, some like to live on the sweeter side of life. Avalon Downtown's secret pizza sauce has people guessing the ingredients in every bite. It's not easy to get it perfect but somehow they do. Located in the heart of downtown Youngstown, Avalon Downtown is a popular spot for city lunch goers, birthday parties, nightlife and pizza life. Known for their airy crust and sweet sauce, Avalon swears by using the freshest homemade ingredients. This is a classic Italian joint owned by Anne and Micheal Sabella. The dough is made and pressed daily so be patient when your order, there's a lot of love to be shared in that dough. Sit at the bar, grab a beer and wait for that pizza.
